My Journey

You might be wondering, how did I go from working in a corporate environment as a software engineer to starting Inspired Living. To best answer this question, I would have to share with you a defining moment, resulting in years of working on myself, that brought me to where I am today and what I do. Right now, I work with women like you using my unique blend of Reiki Energy Healing, Meditation, Breathwork and Coaching Practices to empower you to become the best version of yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually. That defining moment in my life happened in 2009. A few months prior to that my husband and I had closed on our new house that we were renovating, while living in a small apartment with 2 daughters. The company I was working for at that time as a Software Engineer had also just closed one of their offices in Manhattan and had moved everybody to working from home, which was quite an adjustment. I was also preparing my older daughter to move to college, helping my husband with renovations in the new house and taking care of my younger daughter who was 4 at the time. It felt like there was hardly any remaining time in the day or night to do anything else. It was at the end of August of 2009 and I was lying on my old couch in our apartment, thinking about how my daughter will adjust to college, how we still have to finish our move before my younger daughter starts school and anxiously running through multiple to-do lists in my head. Suddenly, I had an overwhelming feeling that I just cannot do this, that I am not going to be able to go through this move or anything else and I had a severe panic attack. I felt like my life had just stopped. I could not fall asleep that night and could not fall asleep for the next seven days. I was brought up in an Armenian family, where even though education was valued, the role of women was still defined as a wife and a mother first and foremost. There were no rituals of self-care. There were just things that needed to be done by a woman (like cooking, cleaning, etc) and they just got done. Hence, I always pulled through. At the age of 27, I Immigrated to a different country with my 4 year old daughter, continued my education, found a job in a different field, and continued raising my kids and supporting my family. What I had not realized though was that I had been neglecting my own needs and very often not even paying attention to the enormous pressure life put on professional women who are also mothers and wives. And that night I just could not pull through anymore and simply collapsed. Fast forward many years, and I was able to use this low moment in my life to finally realize that I had not been taking care of myself for years. I realized, over the course of my recovery, that by taking care of yourself you are not being selfish, but are just trying to be the best you can be to then be able to give more to the people that you love. With the help of my doctor and my family, I was able to take some time off from work and started looking at all areas of my life and how I could improve my self-care routine. I tried many alternative healing modalities, such as ‘EFT’ (Emotional Freedom Technique), ‘Dahn-Yoga’, and QiGong. I started listening more to my body and what it needs to have more energy and to start feeling healthy and happy. Slowly, I developed a routine that worked well for me to help me feel the best. I also started telling other women in my life, especially my friends and colleagues, about the importance of self-care and self-acceptance. Over the years, I have continued my personal growth and developed a passion to help other women. I then worked to become a Certified Health Coach and also attained a Life Coaching Certification, as well as Reiki Master Practitioner Certification, which allow me to work with women like you on how to best improve your health and wellness so that you feel alive, radiant, whole and complete. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or to schedule a Discovery Session to discuss how I can best support you in your health journey.
